Birth Order

Another example of the difference between being child number 1 and child number 3:

Child number 1:
Mom know precisely the number and length of naps each day to the minute and second. Baby spends majority of naps in mommy's arms. Any minor disturbance is quickly soothed away with holding, rocking, nursing. Phone ringers are turned off to minimize disruptions and a lovely classical piece is quietly playing in the background (Mozart, preferably. good for brain development).

Child number 3: finally falls asleep for first half-way decent nap at 7:30 PM and is rudely awakened 20 minutes later by the sound of glass shattering on tile after being knocked off mantle by older sibling. Mom sends big sister upstairs to entertain/calm baby while she frantically tackles cleaning up the mess. Sound of vacuum drowns out baby's cries, so mom forgets she's sad and procedes to sweep the entire first floor.
