Congratulations, Pop-pop!!

My Father-in-law, along with about 100 other recipients, was given a Centenary Award for Outstanding Service to his diocese this past weekend. Above you'll see one row full of grandchildren (and one daughter-in-law seated in the center) eagerly awaiting the ceremony, which included vespers and benediction with the Bishop. Nana sits at the head of the pew, keeping everyone contained.

Here we all are afterward, gathered in front of Our Lady, minus one son (Father Earl, who is currently in Rome), and plus two siblings and a nephew visiting from India!

Here are Vernon and Margaret, Pop-pop's brother and sister, up close.

The Cathedral is breathtaking.

And here he is, the handsome gentleman of the hour, of whom we are all very proud. And by the way, to most of his grandchildren he is called 'Papa.' Somehow our oldest daughter changed it to 'Pop-pop', and in our branch of the family, it stuck.
